An exceptional Antique graduated sterling silver Albert chain, featuring a classic central T-bar and secured with two original dog clips. Elegantly proportioned and beautifully weighted, this fine example is fully hallmarked throughout with the lion passant and the Sponsor’s mark H B&S, likely to be attributed to Herbert Bushell & Son Ltd. and assayed in Birmingham.

Dating to circa 1919 - 1920, the chain showcases outstanding craftsmanship. Each link is  individually  stamped with the lion passant - Britain’s enduring hallmark of sterling silver purity (minimum 92.5%). In continuous use since the 16th. century, this emblem stands as a trusted guarantee of quality, authenticity and English silversmithing heritage. 

With its handsome graduation and substantial feel, this Albert chain is both a refined collector’s piece and a timeless accessory.

Note: Chains and necklaces can appear longer or shorter on mannequin neck than they are in reality. Please check measurements specified on those of interest to you. In general:

40 cms. (= 16”) length is a snug fit / close to neckline. 

43 cms. (= 17”) slightly longer. This chain is 17½", so hangs closer to centre of clavicle. 

46 cms. (= 18”) close, but not ‘snug’ to neckline. Hangs in centre of clavicle - as with this one (½" longer). 

51 cms. (= 20”) mid-chest level. 

61 cms. (= 24”) hangs at chest / cleavage level.
