Unique vintage 9ct. solid gold Irish brooch set with gold heart, shamrock and a harp, the latter two of which are emblems of Ireland. Exquisite twist detail to harp strings and both the harp and the shamrock are embellished with green enamelling, the colour which is synonomous with Ireland’s green landscape and the reason why Ireland is identified as the Emerald Isle. This is quite special. Length: 44.5 mm. (= 4.45 cms. / 1¾”).

Note: The harp was adopted as the emblem of the Irish Free State when it separated from the UK in 1922.
